DJE further develops dividend strategy - predictable earnings in low interest rate environment

As of 19 December 2019, DJE is distributing a total of around EUR 50 million for its flagship funds DJE - Zins & Dividende and DJE - Dividende & Substanz as well as DJE - Asia High Dividend. For DJE - Zins & Dividende, this corresponds to a return of 1.5 to 2.4 percent, depending on the unit class. For the DJE - Dividende & Substanz and the DJE - Asia High Dividend, the return is between 2.5 and 3.5 percent. The return ratios refer to the unit price of the respective fund at the end of November. In view of the persistently challenging low-interest environment, DJE is bucking the trend by relying on reliable earnings - and has also decided to permanently increase distributions.

In future, annual distributions of at least 1.5 percent (DJE - Zins & Dividende) and around 2.5 percent (DJE - Dividende & Substanz and DJE - Asia High Dividend) are to be made for the three funds mentioned. Thorsten Schrieber, member of the Management Board responsible for Sales, Sales Support as well as Marketing and PR: "We are continuing to develop our distribution strategy in line with customer needs. In times of zero interest rates, the need for proportional and regular distributions increases. With our dividend strategy, we are meeting the growing demand for predictable current income. Dividends are, so to speak, the new interest rate.

The DJE dividend funds therefore continue to aim for sustainable and reliable earnings. Dr. Jan Ehrhardt, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, commented: "Plannable and increasing dividend potential in the future, for example in funds, is gaining in importance - especially in view of the lack of alternatives in the ongoing low-interest environment. Take equities, for example: in order to identify companies with high dividends and substantial assets at an early stage, it is particularly important to conduct an in-depth analysis of promising business models and their flexible development prospects. When selecting suitable stocks, we examine markets, regions and industries worldwide in detail - also directly on site and in discussions with leading Management.
